Bitcoin ETFs See Record Inflows as BTC Breaks $102K

On January 6, spot Bitcoin exchange-traded funds (ETFs) in the United States saw a massive surge in inflows, with nearly $1 billion entering these funds as Bitcoin’s price reclaimed the $102,000 mark.

Data from SoSoValue reveals that the 12 spot Bitcoin ETFs tracked by the platform recorded a total of $987.06 million in inflows on Monday, marking the second consecutive day of strong inflows. Over this two-day period, these ETFs accumulated nearly $1.89 billion, with both days seeing over $900 million in new capital. This surge in capital came after a rough period in late December, during which Bitcoin ETFs experienced a significant $1.9 billion in net outflows from December 19 to January 2.

Key Players in the Inflow Surge

The bulk of the recent inflows were led by Fidelity’s FBTC, which saw a substantial $370.24 million pour into the fund. It was followed by BlackRock’s IBIT and ARK 21Shares’ ARKB, which attracted $209.08 million and $152.92 million, respectively.

Other significant contributors to the positive momentum included Biwise’s BITB, Grayscale’s GBTC and BTC, which saw $75.23 million, $73.79 million, and $71.19 million in inflows, respectively. Smaller but still notable inflows were recorded by VanEck’s HODL, Franklin Templeton’s EZBC, and Valkyrie’s BRRR, which each drew $17.33 million, $8.88 million, and $8.38 million, respectively.

Increased Trading Volume and Investor Optimism

On January 6, the total daily trading volume for these Bitcoin ETFs reached $3.96 billion, up significantly from the previous day’s $2.59 billion. This surge in trading activity reflects the growing investor optimism as Bitcoin continues to rally.

The strong inflows come as Bitcoin’s price continues its upward trajectory, recently pushing past the $102,000 level. This resurgence has reignited institutional interest in Bitcoin ETF products, fueling investor enthusiasm.

December’s Record-Breaking Performance for Bitcoin ETFs

Despite the recent volatility, December was a standout month for U.S. spot Bitcoin ETFs. The funds collectively accumulated approximately 51,500 BTC—an increase of about 272% compared to the 13,850 BTC added to circulation that month. The positive momentum was driven by strong spot market activity, which pushed Bitcoin to an all-time high of $108,135 on December 17, according to data from crypto.news.

As of press time, Bitcoin was trading at $101,674, up 2.2% over the past 24 hours, maintaining its bullish momentum.

This recent surge in Bitcoin ETF inflows underscores the growing confidence in Bitcoin as an investment asset, with institutional investors continuing to pour capital into the cryptocurrency ecosystem.
