In a groundbreaking move, crypto payment platform MoonPay and global payment giant Mastercard have joined forces to delve into the world of Web3 and its potential applications in experiential marketing. This strategic partnership, officially unveiled on October 25, aims to explore innovative ways to engage and connect with Mastercard’s consumer base.
Keith Grossman, MoonPay’s Enterprise President, and Raja Rajamannar, Mastercard’s Chief Marketing and Communications Officer, made the grand announcement at the prestigious Money20/20 event in Las Vegas. According to Grossman, “Mastercard will leverage MoonPay’s entire Web3 portfolio, encompassing authentication, minting, ETHPass, and more. They will also collaborate closely with our agency, Otherlife, to devise strategies, unleash creative brilliance, and handle front-end development for their experiential initiatives.”

Beyond enriching the consumer experience with Web3 innovations, MoonPay has an additional mission in this partnership: to integrate Mastercard’s products and solutions in order to enhance compliance and trust within the Web3 industry. Specific Mastercard tools, such as “Click to Pay,” Mastercard Send, and Mastercard Crypto Credentials, will be seamlessly integrated into MoonPay’s payment solutions.
Adam Polansky, Mastercard’s Web3 Marketing expert, expressed his enthusiasm for the collaboration, commenting on Grossman’s LinkedIn post, “We’re so grateful for the partnership and even more excited about what’s ahead. Congrats to the full team.” Elizabeth Taylor, Mastercard’s Partnership Executive, echoed the sentiment, stating, “We are excited about this partnership and what’s to come.”
At the time of writing, Mastercard had not issued an official announcement regarding the partnership, and the company had not responded to Cointelegraph’s request for comment.
This collaboration with MoonPay is just one of Mastercard’s strategic moves into the blockchain and cryptocurrency industry. In recent years, Mastercard has steadily integrated various blockchain-related products into its platform. In 2022, the company initiated a program enabling banks to offer crypto trading services to their customers through a partnership with Paxos. Additionally, Mastercard has previously partnered with industry leaders such as Coinbase and MoonPay to facilitate payments within the Web3 and non-fungible token space.
This innovative partnership between MoonPay and Mastercard signals a significant step in the evolution of Web3 and its potential to revolutionize the way we engage with and experience the digital world.
